“English was one of my weakest subjects since elementary, so taking the IELTS was not easy. Working in Amdream as a nurse administrator, I was exposed to how the English Department dealt with their students. The teachers were very patient, intellectual, well-versed and supportive of their learners. If they can push them to their limit they would. That is why I, with no doubt, enrolled after I resigned from my position. I had undergone the basic one-on-one lecture for 40 hours and was very well oriented as to what IELTS is all about. The lecture gave me a clear view of what to expect during the exam. A set of refresher courses followed in order to enhance my ability to reach the score that I need. I was directed to give more weight to reading and writing tests for the reason that I am weak in these areas during the prediagnostic and post-diagnostic assessment.

The week of the exam was NOT easy. An unforeseen event happened to our family and I had to juggle work (being a volunteer nurse), family and the upcoming exam. This Review Center is formulated by heart. They have excellent and accommodating Staff. I’m not kidding nor exaggerating if you want to know ifi im telling the truth, just try and enroll. It sounds good to be true, but American Dream Review Center has the review style that will make you pass.

I wholeheartedly thank american dream not just for the knowledge they’ve imparted, but for inspiring, guiding and supporting me all throughout my review. I enrolled at American dream review 2 months before my exam. Nevertheless, it was more than enough for me to be confident enough to take the exam. And yes believe me, those are the times that I don’t want to sleep anymore! “When I first came in at their office for enrolment, I really had this big question in my mind “Can I possibly take and make it to the March IELTS exam?” During that time I only have approximately four weeks before the said exam. I chose Amdream to help me with my IELTS preparation since it was highly recommended by my sister who also had her review for IELTS in American Dream five years ago. Despite the location they had during my review days which is in Panganiban, I did not hesitate to enrol maybe because something has brought me to be part of the IELTS review in Amdream. And I made the right choice with the band scores I got with the short span of time I spent reviewing and practicing.

Every time I attend review classes during the intensive phase I tend to get nervous because it turned out to be on 1-on-1 lecture with Ms. Lea. I was disciplined to wake up early for my class at eight in the morning which is very unusual for me to be on time. But then on the later part of the review, I was able to establish rapport with the staff and with the other students which helped me to be more confident. Their exercises and simulations were patterned from the actual IELTS exam since Amdream is an authorize agent for British Council. I can say that their simulations were quite difficult but then I realized that its difficulty helped us a lot to get used to the type of questions in the actual exam.

Moreover, my success in the exam would not be possible without the great big help of Ms. Lea. She guided me all the way to the exam, and she is very approachable and friendly. And pretty assured that I didn’t felt bored the whole time we had our lecture. She has lots of things to share, about life and experiences. As I always say, she is one of the best person to talk to. With her positive thoughts and encouragement, her student will surely look forward for a positive result in the exam.

Taking a journey with you had been one of the precious moments in terms of learning IELTS. I could never known myself as a person who can stand beyond the tremendous waves not until you came as a inspirational mentor. I’ve learned and proved myself that I can compete with others; despite the fact that at the beginning I been your weakest student; one out of ten (1:10) students who took the 21st February 2009 IELTS exam; but because of the great insights that you’ve shamed to we, it was served as an eye-opener to me – to become a better person. “I was not ready to take IELTS. Some of my friends told me there is no need for me to review since we are working in a call center and they expected that we already learned everything there is to know about English. They proved otherwise.

During my pre-diagnostic exam, it was difficult. I was struggling to answer the questions correctly and during the writing exam, I can’t hardly organize my thoughts. I was afraid my IELTS coach would have a hard time teaching. I also was afraid that I won’t be able to juggle my work and my review schedule. There were a lot on my mind: fears, apprehensions, negativities but all vanished when I started my review.

With American Dream, I had a good time reviewing. My classmates; Ate Rose and Briant were cool people. I was more than happy to come to class because I know aside from learning IELTS and a lot about real life. She shared her knowledge and tips about taking IELTS and aside from that her views about life which made us (or me, particularly) think deeply about it. Ate Rose was our source of laughter (and coffee) while Briant was our source of delay (because he would come in late). Nevertheless, they were all fun to be with and I treasure those moments.

Happy days were soon over. We were to have refresher every day after the 1 week discussion, so we were to have our own pace. I was not able to see both of my classmates anymore; however I also got to know new ones. Days before our exam, the American Dream takers for February 21 were put into 1 class and got our final coaching together. Amidst the nervousness we felt and the anxiety towards the exam we often joked with each other, discuss about questions from the speaking cards and even had our picture taking session. Each one prayed for everyone to pass. Each one helped and boosted the other one’s hopes for passing.

During the exam, our American Dream instructors were there to support us. They stayed and waited (and I know they prayed) for us. Their endeavours were not wasted. After the 13 days of agonizing wait, the results were answered prayers. All of us passed!

I could not have done this on my own. Thank you Lord God for the wisdom. Thank you friends and family for the support. Thank you American Dream for the best IELTS journey you’ve let me experience. More power to your staff. May God pour His blessing upon you.”
